Ambe Standley Chenwi is O4C Youth of the Month for September 2019!


Welcome to SEPTEMBER & Happy New Month!

Our Youth of the Month is Ambe Standley Chenwi! Ambe Standley Chenwi is a
Senior Agriculture Technician and Agro Pastoral Entrepreneur who studied
Agriculture and Rural Production from the Regional College in Bambili and
graduated as a farm Manager with an HND in management in Farm Enterprises.

Upon graduation he volunteered with the Sustainable Runs for Development
SURUDEV as head of Division of Agriculture and Environmental Education,leading
campaigns for tree planting, environmental education with the Project Green
school and Trees for the future in Nkambe, Ndu and in the Kom Wum forest where
he worked as a conservationist, training farmers on Bee farming, market
gardening and water catchment protection using ecofriendly trees like Acacia
and Terphocia, and the medicinal Pronos Africana.

In 2016 he was recruited to work for the Bamenda University of Science and
Technology as Farm Manager a position he had as duty to train University
students in the farm, coordinate the construction of a green house with Green
House Venture, manage the animal and livestock farm with the Feed Mill.

April 2016 he left for ECO Farm in Bangui in the Central African Republic where
he worked as Farm Manager in Yomboro Village in a market Gardening project and
a pig production Farm. Later that year the crisis intensify in Bangui and he
returned home in Bamenda and Nazareth Agro Pastoral Training Centre Menteh in
Nkwen took him as Lead Trainer for Animal Production for the project JEA Juene
which is a partnership project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural
Development and the Ministry of Livestock and Animal Industry which is aim at
Building the Capacity of Young Agro Pastoral Entrepreneurs in Cameroon in the
North West, Centre , South and Littoral Regions.

After working for 1 year he was then admitted by Agro Studies in ISRAEL to
study precision Agriculture from 2017 to 2018. During his time in Israel he
worked at Ozer Epraim a green house farm.

In September 2018 he returned home and started a start up Called High Land Farm
Africa, an Enterprise they are still growing in Bamenda. Today while working with another Youth Lead Organisation Called Global Youth Transformative Aids they have been able to trained more than 2000 young people in Livestock, Crop production and Vegetable Farming.

They started the Cameroon Youth Agriculture and Entrepreneurship Program this
year and they have trained Students from the Technical School of Agriculture
Bambili, Regional College of Agriculture Bambili, Bamenda University of Science
and Technology, College of Technology in the University of Bamenda. They have
done this in the domain of Rabbitary, Poultry, Piggery, Feed Production and
Mushroom. As a start up one of our Challenges is Capital and Land in running a
Training Farm for Young People in Cameroon.

“When I die hand my Garden folk to my first son, tell him the farm is the
richest bank next to the grave Yard” said Ambe as one of his best quote.

Ambe Standley Chenwi has been decorated with honors and congratulations as
recognition for his service to humanity and fight for zero hunger through

CAMACA Award for Best Young Social Entrepreneur in fighting Zero Hunger in
Cameroon 2019.La Liberty Award for Best Longevity Poet for Black Swagger Poetry
Slam 2019. YOCICOPO Motivational Award.

Young People Contributing Positively for Change in Bamenda 2019. National
Business Challenge. National Price for Excellence Best Agriculture Project
Holder 2019 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education Yaounde
Cameroon 2019.

His Advice to the Youths

My advise to many young people is that Oil, Timber, Diamond ,Gold will get
finish but the soil will remain. He who plough the soil well get paid
well.Young people should be hard working, have Tenacity of Purpose that is
kill fear and stay focused. There is no country in the world that ever
Developed with Agriculture in its political agenda. For Young people to grow
and be leaders of the next generation we must have passion,Love, and Purpose
for what we do.The only thing I can spend the rest of my life doing now is
